Dana White isn’t pleased at all that Jon Jones hasn’t signed the contract to fight Alexander Gustafsson yet. They are tentatively scheduled to fight a rematch sometime this fall. When asked what the delay was in setting a firm date for the fight, White said, “ask Jon Jones.”
Apparently Jones has had the contract in his hands since he defeated Glover Teixeira at UFC 172, but hasn’t put his autograph on it yet. When asked to give an opinion on the delay, White said, “I don’t like it…I don’t like it at all.”
In reference to White’s comments, I say, “I don’t like it…I don’t like it at all.” Hey Dana, get a grip! Jones has pretty much been the most active champion since two thousand and ever, and King Dana the 1st, has his panties in a bunch because Jones hasn’t signed a contract in a few weeks?
Bro, relax. Jones has fought in eight title fights in the past 3 years and has already said he’d fight Gustafsson. I’d say bullying your biggest star (at least he should be the UFC’s biggest star if they’d market him properly, but I won’t get into that now) into signing the contract is not only unnecessary, but also stupid.
And now Daniel Cormier is stepping in saying he wants to fight Gus for the interim title. That’s funny as hell. The most active champion ever needs an interim title because he’s been inactive for 30 days? Dana needs to check his fucking ego.
